Roullete, or Roulette, is a casino game that involves the spinning of a numbered wheel to determine a winning number. Players make bets by placing chips on a special betting mat. The game is primarily based on chance and can be exciting to play, as there are many possible outcomes. Bets can be placed on individual numbers, various groupings of numbers (such as odd and even or high and low), or whether the winning number is red or black.
The croupier will then spin the wheel and, when it has come to a stop, the ball will land in one of the pocketed divisions on the wheel. The pocketed divisions are numbered nonconsecutively from 1 to 36 and alternate between red and black. On European wheels, there is an additional green compartment labelled 0; on American tables, there are two extra green pockets labelled 00.
Once the croupier has finished spinning the wheel and all bets are in place, the players then await the result of the spin. The winning number will be revealed and the bets paid out. The player can then either collect their chips or place more bets on the next spin.
Before a spin begins, players give the dealer their money and ask for “colour”. They then receive coloured roulette chips equal to the value of their bet. The chips are then laid down on a special betting mat where the precise location of each chip indicates a specific bet.
During the course of a game, players can change their bets by simply removing them from the betting mat. Between spins, players can also add more chips to their wager by putting them on the betting mat, with the precise placement of each new chip indicating that this is an addition to a previous bet.
The rules of the game are relatively simple. A player places chips on the table in a predetermined pattern to form a bet. Once all bets are in place, the croupier spins the roulette wheel and then throws a small ball into it. The ball then bounces around the wheel until it settles in one of the numbered compartments on the roulette table. If the bet is correct, the player wins.
