Domino is a game in which players place domino pieces, or “tiles,” on a base. Each piece bears an arrangement of spots, or “pips,” that determine its value. Some tiles have no pips, while others have many, and are therefore considered to be heavier or more valuable.
When a player places a tile on the base, the other players must attempt to match it with one of their own. The player who does this first scores points. Each additional match adds to the score. The player with the highest total wins. The game is also used in educational settings to teach counting and addition.
You’ve probably seen a video of an amazing domino effect or reaction, where a long line of dominoes is carefully set up and then toppled with the nudge of only one. These mind-blowing setups can be arranged to create images, words or even whole artworks. Some domino shows feature builders competing to see who can create the most intricate and imaginative domino effect or reaction before a live audience of fans.
Hevesh has worked hard to perfect her skills and develop techniques that make her dominoes more complex. She tries out different designs by making small test versions, then films the results. She uses this footage to pinpoint any problems and correct them before she completes the entire installation. She’s even been known to film the process while she’s working, so that she can watch herself do it in slow motion and correct any mistakes she might have made along the way.
When she’s not creating dominoes, Hevesh works in the real world. She works as a professional artist and performer and has appeared on numerous TV shows, including the hit series Undercover Boss. She has also performed at various music festivals and events across the country.
As a mutant, Domino has been a member of both X-Men and their Black Ops counterpart X-Force. She quit X-Force when Pete Wisdom attempted to turn the team into a proactive black ops squad, then rejoined when Cable recruited her to help protect mutants sequestered by the Office of National Emergency. She was later possessed by the Undying alien Aentaeros and forced to kill its rival Semijan, but after Cable deactivated the tech grafts, she returned to her freelance work and joined the mercenary Six Pack.
