The Basics of Roullete

Roullete is a classic casino game that can be found in any place where table games are available. It’s easy to understand, fast paced and offers a variety of betting options that are sure to please both beginners and experienced players alike.

A small ball is thrown into a revolving wheel and when it comes to rest, it will fall into one of the compartments marked on a table with different odds. Each number has either a red or black color and is numbered 1 through 36 (on European-style wheels, there are two green compartments labeled 0 and 00). Various types of bets can be placed on these numbers, as well as other groupsings of numbers and on whether the number is odd or even, high or low.

In a roulette game, players bet against the house – which is the dealer. When a bet is placed, the croupier will then spin the wheel and throw the ball into one of the pockets that correspond to the bet made. The player then places their chips on the table and waits to see which number is chosen.

When a bet wins, the player’s money is paid out in colored chips equal to the value of the bet. The chips are left on the table until the next spin, and can be used in future rounds of play. If the player has a large winning bet, the chips may be collected and replaced at any time afterward.

Some of the more popular bets are on the individual numbers or groupings of numbers. These are called “outside” bets and offer a lower payout if won. One of the more common outside bets is on a Straight Bet, where the player is wagering that the winning number will be any of the numbers 1-36 and that it won’t be either the 0 or 00. This bet pays off at 1:1. Other popular bets include the Split Bet, or cheval in French, where the player’s chip(s) are placed to straddle the line between two numbers on the layout. This bet pays 17-1 if won.
