HyeSook Chung has worked to improve the lives of children through direct service, program management, philanthropy and advocacy for the past 21 years. She is a data and technology enthusiast whose innovative vision for data work for high-impact social outcomes has been highlighted at IMB Insight Data Conference, the list of Rockefeller Foundation’s Top 100 Innovative NGO’s, Unicef, The Classys, Amazon, The White House, and SXSW Education. Prior to her position at the City Foundation, Ms. Chung served as a Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services for Mayor Muriel Bowser. She received a Master of Social Work from Boston University with a concentration in non-profit management. HyeSook is also a proud mother of two social activists!
Kanav Kathuria has been with the Baltimore City Foundation since September of 2017, first serving as Systems and Operations Manager through Baltimore Corps and currently as Deputy Director. He was brought in to help spearhead the Foundation's restructuring, build capacity, and establish the Foundation as an accountable and efficient intermediary. Kanav has previous experience building a social sector startup in India and understands the necessity of community-based grantmaking to disrupt traditional flows of funding in philanthropy. He received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
Nancy Pivec is a Fiscal Technician for the Department of Finance for the City of Baltimore. The past 10 years, she has served as the Account Administrator for the Baltimore City Foundation. She is a lifetime resident of Baltimore, wife, mother of 2 sons and has a rescue boxer named Maggie.
