The Office of Civil Rights and Wage Enforcement is celebrating our annual Civil Rights Week on September 27 through October 5, 2019. The week will start off with our 28th Civil Rights Breakfast on Friday, September 27th, with our guest speaker, Rev. Jesse Jackson, and culminating on October 5th, with our Annual Civil Rights Black-tie Gala at the Baltimore Convention Center. Every day in between, the office has planned civil rights activities and events in and around Baltimore City. This year’s Civil Rights Week theme is “B.I.A.S. – BRINGING INHERENT ASSUMPTIONS TO THE SURFACE”. The purpose of this year’s week is to provoke interest and energy around the relevant civil and human rights issues of our day, including, but not limited to, policing vulnerable communities, health disparities, environmental discrimination, the 2020 Census, etc. To learn more about the Office of Civil Rights and Wage Enforcement and this year’s Civil Rights Week, please visit our website at: https://civilrights.baltimorecity.gov/
